Drug lord Roger P. (48, alias “Piet Costa”), suspected of large-scale cocaine trafficking, was detained in his cell on Wednesday on suspicion of ordering the construction of the torture containers at Wouwse Plantage. That writes Het Parool.

Last month it was announced that the police suspected the Rotterdam criminal of having ordered the furnishing of containers with equipment to interrogate people in a violent manner. Justice has now sued P. as the client for the construction of the 'underworld prison'. His lawyer Jan-Hein Kuijpers confirms the arrest, but according to the newspaper does not want to comment further.

According to investigators, Roger P. communicated in decrypted EncroChat messages under the nickname “Luxury Balloon” with the builders of the torture complex. The suspect Robin van O. from Utrecht is said to have led this. His nickname was “Slempo” according to the police.

Piet Costa was arrested in June in a luxury apartment in Rotterdam. He is suspected of having imported thousands of kilos of cocaine in 2015 and 2016, and of preparing cocaine shipments from March to June 2020.
