The HARC team intercepted a batch of 743 kilos of cocaine in the port of Rotterdam on Tuesday. A 29-year-old man from The Hague has been arrested. The street value of the cocaine batch is over 56 million euros. The Public Prosecution Service announced this on Saturday.

The party was hidden in a container loaded with bananas. The container arrived on Tuesday with a seagoing vessel from Ecuador. The 29-year-old suspect was brought before the examining magistrate by the public prosecutor on Thursday. He has decided that the man will be detained for fourteen days longer.

The HARC team, a partnership of Customs, FIOD, Seaport Police and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam is investigating the case further. The drugs have since been destroyed.
