^ I am nowhere near the level of in-the-known knowledge some posters have, but for my part I remember a friend of a relative of mine living in the NY area (both of them legit 1 gen Sicilian-Americans) telling me how, although eastern euros are widely known for being excellent in the “Green Card Wedding” schemes, Italians are not that behind.

If you have a clean criminal record (most young connected siggis do, believe it or not) it’s not that hard to get here with a fiance visa and receive a green card in less than a year. If you obtain a GC through marriage you’re eligible for the citizenship test after three years of continuous residency.

Then there’s the whole “skilled worker” visa process. Guys with fake CV making them look like legit professionals (mostly in the restaurant business) who get hired and sponsored by connected people working in the food and service industry.

And of course as a last resort, they can always operate here illegally.
