There were lots of dramas, thrillers and action movies featuring a fictional American president in the 90s. The American President, Primary Colors, The Pelican Brief, Air Force One, In the Line of Fire, among others, not to mention TV series like The West Wing.

I watched the forgotten movie, Absolute Power, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood the other night.

It was plodding stuff with a weak payoff.
