I don't think it's usual for a guy to catch HIV from a girl. I am thinking it's more like he got it from a dirty needle, or a gay drug dealer. And he is really trying hard with this insanity defense. I don't know if that's going to work, he drove away from the crime scene and went into hiding. That kind of proves he knew he was doing wrong.
