Some of these men had soldiers that dealed in drugs, but they were making a killing in Gambling, loan sharking, frauds, unions, garments, robberies, pornograph, boiler rooms, waste management, construction, chop shops, arms smuggling and cheese factories. There are a few other capos, but they were never convicted of narcotics violations, but with informants saying they were involved and always made sure they got their envelopes of the profits from the deals, I decided not to include them in the list.

Historically the Genovese and Gambinos had big time earners without the use of drug dealings.
