The film "Mafia Inc." Is freely inspired on the homonymous book (430 pages) written by the two investigative journalists, which traces the history of the Sicilian clan of Montréal and its two leaders over a period of more than 30 years Nicolò and Vito Rizzuto.
In the film all the characters’ names have been changed and a good part of the plot is the result of the writers' imagination.

Director Daniel Grou - known artistically as Podz - said that the movie’s plot is more a matter of a fictional work invented starting from the content of the book. Above all, the film explores the tension that exists between a Sicilian and a Québec family.

The story, in fact, tells the story of a certain Vincent "Vince" Gamache (Marc-André Grondin), son of a Québecese tailor (Gilbert Sicotte) who works on behalf of Sicilian mob boss Paternò (Sergio Castellitto). Vince's sister, Sofie (Mylène Mackay), is engaged to one of Paternò's sons. The relationship between the two families becomes particularly tense when Vince is thrown out of the Sicilian clan for having made a serious mistake.

Producer Antonello Cozzolino was born in Montreal from parents of Neapolitan origin. Mafia Inc. is one of the most important Canadian films, with a budget of over 8 million dollars and important actors such as Marc-André Grondin, Gilberte Sicotte along with Italian movie star Sergio Castellitto. All the "Italian" roles are portrayed by actors of Italian origin.

The movie is set for release on February 17 2020 (Canada).
