It seems we're in the middle of one of those periods of time where we're apparently just going to lose one great star after another. It's only been a few days since we lost Rene Auberjonois and Big Bird performer Caroll Spinney on the same day, and now, news has come that we've lost another valuable actor. Academy Award nominee Danny Aiello has died at the age of 86.Danny Aiello racked up more than 100 acting credits in a career that spanned more than 40 years. He made his debut in 1973's Bang the Drum Slowly, which was followed up in short order with the role of Tomny Rosato in The Godfather: Part II.

Aiello would frequently play Italian mobsters in his roles forever after, but over his long career he still had opportunities to do more. He had roles in Once Upon a Time in America, The Purple Rose of Cairo, and Moonstruck. He played Madonna's father in her "Papa Don't Preach" music video. The man basically had every sort of role under the sun at one time or another.

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungleā€”as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
