Colombia’s cocaine production went up 19%, from 772 metric tons to 921 metric tons in 2017, though other estimates put the potential production much higher.

Add Peru's and Bolivia's production and it will be indeed close to 2000 tonnes.

The Mexicans have now also begun to produce it themselves and they have moved into Brazil's Amazon and are producing cocaine deep in the rainforest.
