According to Algemeen Dagblad, Feyenoord are in serious talks with an American investment company, who want to help the club bridge the gap to PSV and Ajax.

AD are reporting that Feyenoord’s management are currently in talks with an American group who want to become minority shareholders in the club.

The millions that they invest would help Feyenoord get on an equal footing with Ajax and PSV Eindhoven and challenge for the Eredivisie title.

Toon van Bodegom, the president of Feyenoord, would welcome the investment and is willing to give the Americans a lot of say in how the club is run, from the player recruitment to new managers.

A source close to the deal told AD, “The Americans want control on all fronts,”

Van Bodegom is also hopeful that the Americans would help convince Robert Eenhoorn of AZ to take the General Manager role with the club. Jan de Jong left the position earlier this week because of disagreements over the plans.

A deal is not completed yet but all parties are enthusiastic about the outcome.
