(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 24 - The police of the Provincial Command of Lecce are carrying out 30 custody orders, of which 19 are in prison and 11 under house arrest, against as many subjects investigated for mafia-type association. The accusations for various reasons also concern the association aimed at the trafficking of drugs, damage followed by fire, illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, possession and sale of drugs, extortion, handling of stolen goods, aggravated threat, abusive use of weapons, seizure of person and private violence. Among the captured is also a prominent member of the Holy Crown. The mayor of a municipality in the province of Lecce is under investigation for external competition in mafia association.
