True although back then it was very tough to be able to infiltrate and bug a induction ceremony. They were able to in October 1989 which was obviously a huge deal. It was virtually impossible to do it in the 70s and 80s Joe Pistone got very close to doing it while undercover before they pulled him out. Also the books were close for long periods. They opened the books in 1976 after a very long time. In 77 and 78 they continued inducting new members. Then in 79 I believe they closed the books for a few years
