Murder in Repentigny: a person arrested

Crime Against the Person investigators arrested a suspect in the murder of 33-year-old Francis Turgeon, who was killed last week in Repentigny.

The suspect, Wesley McKenzie, will appear today at the Joliette courthouse. The 40-year-old man was arrested on Friday, according to the Sûreté du Québec's Twitter feed.

According to our information, Wesley McKenzie has long been in the entourage of the Hells Angels present in the area of Repentigny, for which he was already involved in the collection of money and the sale of narcotics.

Francis Turgeon was killed around 2:30 am on the night of May 7 to 8. After several people contacted 911, the Repentigny police officers went to a residence on Raymond-Gaudreault Street and found the victim lying on the grounds of the house.

In 2014, Turgeon was arrested along with other individuals after an investigation called Macaque by which the Sûreté du Québec dismantled a methamphetamine production and distribution network that was likely to be linked to bikers.

Turgeon was allegedly involved in the large-scale sale of methamphetamine. He had been sentenced to three years' imprisonment for trafficking, but by withdrawing his pretrial detention he had only eight months to serve.
