I think that's pretty good description. Many of them are just criminals who have gained some muscles.

An old ex biker said "before the man carried his vest, but now it's the vest carrying the man". I translated it from Finnish, but he meant that old days the guys were tough, they didn't snitch or anything like that, nowadays MC:s have lot of junkies, snitches etc, because now it's important to spread as far as possible.
