So I was doing some digging and saw that Sammy Gravano's daughter Karen was previously married to a guy named David Seabrook, which is why her daughter is named Karina Seabrook. I came across this interview with David Seabrook from several years ago on Hot 97 in New York. David says he was a big player with Fat Cat and Pappy Mason, who ran a powerful drug gang out of Queens in the 80s.

David met Karen in New York and must've moved with her and her family out to Arizona, because he was involved in Sammy's ecstasy ring that he was running in the late 90s when he left witness protection.

Then I came across this documentary on Sammy which is like 75-80% on Sammy's drug crew in Arizona. I hadn't seen this before and I didn't know that much about his drug crew there.

It's super fascinating because Sammy brought around all of these young wannabes who aren't street wise and he has them eating out of his hand. He's coaching them on how to run the operation and how to shake down other dealers, etc. But it's wild how flashy and brazen the crew is. They're throwing their weight around using Sammy's name to put fear into other dealers, but they're spending lots of money and driving flashy cars. You think he would have coached them on how to keep a low profile, but he must've thought that in Phoenix the cops would have no idea what was going on. He was also probably feeling very overconfident after getting off so light for the 19 murders.

Sammy also had his crew using Nextel phones to communicate because he thought that the FBI couldn't wiretap Nextels because that's what their agents use.... which sounds hilariously absurd and naive. In his book (if I remember correctly) he acted like he couldn't believe Gotti would be so public and flashy because he knew the heat it would bring, but here he is out in Arizona with his crew acting like Gottis.
