Major police strike against the Hells Angels

A network of alleged drug traffickers under the control of the Hells Angels chapter of Trois-Rivières is the target of a police operation that should result in about thirty arrests on Wednesday.

The National Anti-Organized Crime Squad (ENRCO) has been striking in Quebec since daybreak in Mauricie, Montérégie, the Eastern Townships, the Outaouais and Montreal.

The Journal has learned that at least one member in good standing of the Hells Angels chapter of Trois-Rivières suspected of drenching in drug trafficking has been apprehended.

Claude Gauthier, 50, left his residence in Nicolet at around 6:00 am with handcuffs and escorts from ENRCO investigators.

The veteran biker, nicknamed "Gros Claude", had also seen his home be the target of a search of this squad December 12 last.

n 2009, Gauthier managed to escape the police during the famous SharQc operation, which targeted 156 members and associates of the Hells in Quebec.

He remained on the run until 2016, after the removal of charges of murder and conspiracy against him.

But this time, he will face justice and appear on several counts Wednesday afternoon.
