It's hard to believe they would move on Cali without wanting Cefalu out also. He's been the boss for what 8-9 years? and Cefalu is a ghost, who's even seen a recent picture of the guy.
I still say it's Joseph Corozzo, his bother (Nick) and Gene. They are stupid enough and probably figured with Cali gone Cefalu would step down and the three of them would take over, Jo Jo, Nick and Gene.
This makes the most sense. Gotti just did 29 years standing on his head. Cali was the muscle and they figured Cefalu will easily step down if told to.
