Similar sitation occurred in Chicago during Prohibition and even before that. In fact from the 1910s until the late 1920s a lot of non-Sicilian gangsters arrived from Brooklyn to Chicago, including Torrio, Vanella, Esposito, Capone, Volpe, Campagna, the Fischettis etc. By 1931 Capone tookover the Sicilian Mafia in Chicago
