They had him on the FBI’s ten most wanted, so he was probably being hidden by people in his neighborhood where he could blend in better. If he goes on the lamb (lam?) to Kentucky or somewhere he’s gonna stand out like a sore thumb.
But on the flipside, I think you still gotta run. The truth is nobody thinks they’re gonna get clipped until they do. It was only a matter of time until the mob found him, so he’d have been better off lambing it to Kentucky and waiting until the feds got him. He’d be in jail at least instead of dead.
