Did he request his own transfer? If not, DOJ is going to have some explaining to do. This is a bad look. Even if he did request the transfer it doesn't look good. This is a man who has a history of working with law enforcement that were in collusion with organized crime, most notably at the federal level. A transfer of custody takes place, supervised by federal authorities, and a day later he's dead, while under the watch of federal authorities.
