It may not be a coincidence that Rep. Stephen Lynch is from Southie, Bulger's old turf. It's possible that Bulger was set to open up to someone on Lynch's team with claims of abuses in the program, and word got out.

Would be wild if a high ranking FBI agent from Boston passed along word to an incarcerated mobster from Boston to take him out... passed him word that Bulger was being transferred there to shut him up.
