A 77-year-old man was gunned down in a suspected mob hit in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon, police sources told The Post.

Vincent Zito was shot once in the back of the head inside his Sheepshead Bay home on Emmons Avenue near Batchelder Street at about 3:15 p.m., the sources said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police found him lying face up on the floor of the living room at the house after responding to a 911 call, cops said.

A handgun was recovered at the scene.

Police believe there is a mafia connection to the hit, but it’s unclear what family Zito was affiliated with, sources said.

Zito lived at the house where he was gunned down with his adult children and members of their families, a police source said.
