I used to follow Sam Quinones's blog. He reported on San Bernardino all of the time. Maybe I should start again.

San Bernardino is the poorest place I've ever seen. I was there about a decade ago. It looked like every street had sidewalks broken into pieces, like a bomb hit the place.
