Well I read that he got cleaned up before John even became boss, but even then I'm sure he wasn't the only guy who used dope that was around Gotti, his whole crew was waist deep in dope.
I think he was the only one who ever used, and he was cleaned up when he hooked up with Gotti. As Bronx said, he was no money maker, but a tough guy kept close by Gotti.
