In a joint action by the Customs, the FIOD and the German and Dutch police, 9 suspects were arrested Thursday in Germany. They would be members of an international drugs gang that operated cannabis farms and exported cocaine and amphetamines from the Netherlands to various European countries.
In the joint action, raids were made in Rotterdam, Venlo, Duisburg and Meerbusch, among others. In total, almost 20 buildings were searched. A Porsche Panamera, 2 Porsches 911, a Harley-Davidson, 110,000 euro cash and 2 watches worth about 500,000 euro were seized. In one of the searches, the police also ran into a cannabis nursery with just over 400 plants.
The investigation into the gang members started in October 2016. In total, it would be 16 people, men and women between the ages of 28 and 62 years. Of these, 9 have now been arrested, including a man from Venlo who was arrested at Düsseldorf airport. Four main suspects would have transported kilos of cocaine and amphetamine from Rotterdam, via Wuppertal in Germany to, among others, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.
