It's a liberal idea. It worked. The greatest economy in the country's history ensued after it was implemented.

Probably because he left the economy in great shape, and the following Republican president, who reversed most of his economic policies including the tax code, saw the biggest crash since the Depression on his watch. Who should he blame? Most of the country blames Republicans for the crash, because they're the right people to blame.
