Cops can't keep anyone alive. If anyone wants to kill you, they will. If they're willing to do it, and they don't care about the consequences, you're gone. And a cop can't do a thing about it. The top priority of police is to protect the wealthy and the business class. After that comes the upper middle class. Everyone else? You're on your own. The police couldn't care less about you. You're just additional paperwork.
