What about Roseanne? It's the most politically charged sitcom on tv and it's pro-Trump. I doubt it gets cancelled anytime soon, because it's good television. Maybe if tv shows had writers as good as those on All in the Family, shows with with a-hole, racist white lead characters might do better. I think American tv audiences are suckers for good television, no matter their politics. The Sopranos had a huge liberal following (myself included) and the lead character was a racist prick.
