Thinking along those lines....I have read either on here that Merlino was never made by his predecessors only self designated and then made all his friends. If thats the case, that can bring an argument that there is an ability to use entitlement if you are an Italian American and connected in some form to the Mafia you can make a claim to the organization, follow historical rituals and standards, have a crew, overall culture of it, or create a hybrid form of it. Not necessarily like a minor league either. Im not saying that the Mafeo guy and brothers fit that overall but is that essentially what the modern Mafia has turned into in America? Maybe im way off but I think its worthy. If you guys wanted to pick apart the theory I would be equally excited.
