Yes. We are reaching the point where people like The Rock, Kanye West and Will Smith are seriously broaching the subject of running for the White House.
But I would argue that what opened the gates was Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain running when Obama got elected, and Sarah Palin getting more screen time than any of them.
