I can remember watching this series as I was only 6 in '86 but we watched Crime Story every week it came on. If I remember right, it came on either Friday or Saturday which was odd for a hit show back then before cable. LOTS of stars got their start on the show. I still can't believe it only had 2 seasons and just disappeared..

As for Denison I agree, his part as Ray Luca fit him perfectly. I've seen him as a cop in Major Crimes I think it is and he is not a good cop compared to his gangster role. I thought (like Foot said above) that he nailed the gangster part. Torello (Dennis Farina) was an excellent Chicago cop which like Foot said he was the real deal at one point so the role came easy for him.

If I'm not mistaken, you can watch both seasons on Hulu for free or you could at one time. I'm almost certain they still have both seasons there if anyone wants to watch.
