Can I get a Wtf! They've complicated math for kids by introducing this model of number bonds. Bond models work well with chemistry. Because that's what elements do. When I was a kid, when my parents were kids, and so on, we all learned addition and subtraction by memorization at an early age. Now they've added multiple steps for simple addition and subtraction. My kids math teacher made me so mad with this nonsense and her argument of evidence based blah blah, that last summer I schooled him on all the tricks I could remember with multiplication and division over the summer. The first week of this school year, I demanded that they test his math level and landed him in the next grades advanced math class. I don't know why they have to mess with a good thing. Does anyone else's kids or grandkids have this practice our is it just a Florida thing.
