The article you've linked posts numbers from 2010, nearly a decade ago. And, It's kind of weird that most of these lists are of the top 10, and this article has 11, listing police as number 11. Are police even really number 11 by the numbers in that year, or did they just add this section to include police as to not ruffle any feathers with outspoken police supporters?

Giving it the benefit of the doubt, you still have at least 10 occupations more dangerous than being a police officer.

All of the hyperbole aside.

All of the mythology about people wanting to kill police (if they really did, their job would be more dangerous by the numbers).

It is not even a top 10 most dangerous job in America.

Roofers take more of a risk every day. Fact.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea
