By the way, three years ago there was an announcement that Hollywood was making a movie about Mermelstein called 'The Man Who Made It Snow' with Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role. Haven't heard anything about it since, its page on IMDB also seem inactive.
A bit unfortunate, because it could be a very good movie if it would be done right. Gyllenhaal as Mermelstein would be a very good start, the man is one of the best actors of his generation imo..
