Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, Chief of Amsterdam's police commission, is worried about the perpetrators of liquidations in the city. 'They are disadvantaged, have little prospects, little conscientiousness. And that is a dangerous mix. We hear amounts between 3,000 and 5,000 euros for a liquidation. '
In contrast to the 80s and 90s, when according to the chief commissioner liquidations were carried out by professional hitmen , it is nowadays mainly young boys from Amsterdam, who are already in action for less than a tenth of the amounts paid to professional hired killers. Because of these low amounts, there are amateurs who work with uncontrolled and brutal violence.
