Not true, strictly speaking...while not on the scale of any of the big LCN names there was the Gentile organization in Vancouver in the 50s/60s/70s. That family continued to be run by Carlo Gallo from prison until his death in the 1990's, when things more or less petered out. Many people including very prominent Italians in Vancouver connected to them. The Brancas, Minichiellos and Salituros among them. There's a little bit of info on those guys out there if you go digging for it but not much. Mostly court documents. Very little has ever been written about it, although Gentile does get a line in Stephen Schneider's book on OC in Canada.

Old time cops can tell you a bit about them, but frankly they never knew much and that's why those guys were never caught. An old Crown prosecutor named Brian Purdy probably knows the most about them. Western Canada police forces were simply not equipped to deal with anything like LCN. Joe Gentile was close with Paolo Violi and was Godfather (in the Catholic sense) to one of his kids.

There were also the Papalia twins (unrelated to the Hamilton Papalias) who were close Rizzuto allies on the West Coast.
