McMafia begins on BBC1 on New Year’s Day at 9.00pm UK Time, continues on Tuesday 2nd January at the same time.

We were also very mindful of trying not to do the Russian cliché, which is why it was very important to us to have Russian actors in those roles and not well-known English stars doing an accent.”
