It's not much of a dynasty.

I mean the only two of note are John and Junior. John had, what, 2-3 years on the street that he didn't spend in jail or tied up in trials; the murder of Castellano, Amuso and Casso's purging of the Lucchese family and the Persico/Orena war were all instrumental in bringing more heat on the mafia and commencing a slump that has lasted to this day.

Getting back to Junior, nobody in his own family respected him, let alone other families, and but for dumb luck someone like Nicky Corozzo or Zeke Squitieri would've taken over sooner.

I mean even before I really got into researching the mafia, and only had cursory knowledge of who Junior Gotti was, I remember every article I read about him referring to him as if he was a disappointment to his father and/or a moron.

Don't get me started on Peter.

The rest are largely glorified street toughs who benefited solely from name association and nepotism.

Carmine Agnello was just a meathead who owned a junkyard.
