The role of Suriname as an export country for cocaine is increasing enormously. In Rotterdam, a large batch of coke was discovered Thursday, coming from this country. Other European countries are also seeing a boom in cocaine from Suriname, such as Belgium, Spain and France.
The US Drug Enforcement Administration earlier this year already sounded the alarm about the exploding cocaine exports from South America and via Suriname. One of the reasons for the increase is the increased production of coca leaves.
