The police in Amsterdam last Wednesday arrested an Irish-Dutch gang in a large-scale drug investigation. It concerns four Dutch, three Irish and a Belgian. They were detained by arrest teams at various locations in Amsterdam. In addition, one and a half tonnes of cash and 175 kg of soft drugs were seized.
Furthermore, the police confiscated a bitcoinfarm, with which the suspects would deal with their transactions with digital currency. The police tracked the suspects after receiving a tip from Irish detectives that three Irish had traveled to Amsterdam with a large amount of money to buy drugs. The three (a man from Dublin and two from Limerick) were already followed from Schiphol Airport by the police. According to Irish media, the three Irish detainees in Amsterdam would be part of the infamous Kinahan clan, one of the largest drug organizations in Europe. The Kinahans would be active worldwide and also acted in cocaine with the El Chapo Sinaloa cartel.
