Francesco Corallo, the so-called king of the slot-machines, could face a trial into alleged money laundering after being notified by prosecutors that an investigation has been concluded. The move often comes before prosecutors request an indictment. The same notification was also sent to the former foreign minister Gianfranco Fini. Corallo, who operates several casinos in the Caribbean, was arrested in St Maarten last year and extradited to Italy.
