"Around the mid-1950's Vito Genovese became a partner in a family firm known as the Erb Strapping Co which did primarly waterfront business. Genovese invested $249 and Erb and his sister Eleonor Erb Pica $255 for incorporation expenses. Through the influence of Vito Genovese, the Erb Corporation became one of the largest service companies in the frozen and tinned meat fields in the Port of New York. In a little less than fifteen years the gross profits grew over fifteen times."
