Yes there is a huge Salvadoran community here in Northern Virginia and in the Washington suburbs of Maryland like Montgomery and Prince Georges County. Most of them are working class people and large numbers of them are illegal immigrants.

They tend to be concentrated in lower income high density apartments in places like Langley Park, Gaithersburg, Alexandria, Bailey's Crossroads/South Arlington, and Prince William County.

However, like previous immigrants groups to this country before them MS-13 has has gained a following among many young first and 2nd generation Salvadorans in the DC area.

Gang recruitment has become a big problem in the school's in the areas I've listed above as young as elementary school.

Politically MS-13 has also factored big in this year's Governor's race in Virginia.
