The Ray Sharkey character was based on Bob Marcucci. He died about five years ago. Cesare was based on Fabian and Tommy Dee was based on Frankie Avalon. They moved the story to from Philly to the Bronx for aesthetics and availability. It was shot around the spring and summer of 1980 smack in the middle of my old neighborhood. I bussed tables at Mario's as a kid. They shot some of the restaurant interiors there. Good movie. Then again, I'm a little biased.
