Fabian [Forte], Frankie Avalon [Avallone] and Bobby Rydell [Ridarelli] were three Italian guys from Philly whose careers were made by Dick Clark and American Bandstand. I saw all of them at the Freed shows. Avalon brought a trumpet onstage and sometimes played it; Rydell sat at a drum kit and banged away at it.



You were so lucky to get a chance like that to see them perform. I wish I knew Rydell was playing in the desert a couple years ago as I would have gone to see him. He still sounds good.
