Canelo-Chavez turned out to live down to the expectations I had for it. What redeemed the telecast was the announcement of Canelo-GGG for September 16, complete with WWE-style showmanship. Worth catching the last 15 minutes of the HBO replay this weekend to see that part of it.


you were right all along Mr. Blonde. that was 1 of the worst boxing ppv events i've seen. 12 rounds to 0 Canelo on all 3 scorecards. it was pitiful. like you said,the only solace is hearing Canelo/GGG get officially announced. the WWE style announcement,and the confetti made it clear that the outcome of Canelo/Chavez was pre-determined. some people are debating whether or not Chavez even tried or purposely threw the fight,but it doesn't matter either way the fight was terrible. i have to admit, when Canelo and GGG stood side-by-side it was clear as day that GGG is much bigger and is probably much stronger
