Sources say Vito Genovese ordered the Tresca hit, but in all likely hood, the order came from Joe Bonanno. Frank Garafolo had more reason for wanting Tresca dead, as he was shedding a lot of light to the general public about Frank Garafolo, Frank Lubrizzi, Natale Evola, Angelo Caruso and Giovanni Bonventre operations in New York City. All were Joe Bonannos top guys.
Now comes a good question, Why did the commission allow it? Or if they didn't, why was no retribution dealt out for that breach?
Answer, cause Tresca was also shedding light on the other families in New York City as well.
