While the Netherlands gets flooded by cocaine and has the image of a "narco-state", customs in the port of Rotterdam is heavily cut.

"We are now up to our ankles in the coke and later up to the armpits," said one of the members of the now severely distressed OSODT, the main unit of the customs that include dealing with surveillance in the port area.

Of the 150 men who counts the armed wing of the inspection and investigation, almost half is shut down. The intensity of controls will be reversed.

In the last twelve months in our country and in Belgium almost 35,000 kilos of cocaine was intercepted destined for the Dutch market. Never before have so many been discovered.

The gangland murder wave raging in the Netherlands is almost completely cocaine-related.
