Whoever GOP elects to be their nominee, with the exception of Trump, it better be someone who's smart and portrays an air of confidence and is likable. That was Romney's problem in 2012, he could have won, but he wasn't a people's kind of guy. The Republicans need pragmatism, not ultra conservatism.

I saw in the paper today, that jeb bush said "we need more troops in Iraq" is he insane? doesn't he get it yet?

A. The Republicans aren't ruined. The first Tea Party mass movement occurred the day after Rick Santelli on CNBC criticized an Obama recovery plan on February 19, 2009. Unless they had a time machine the Tea Party movement couldn't have affected the 2008 election. There were small Tea Party groups that were local, but there was no national movement until after Santelli spoke.
B. Bush didn't get Obama elected. John McCain was a poor candidate and ran a bad campaign while Obama ran a much better campaign.
C. If you have an issue with what Jeb Bush said, consider that Donald Trump said he'd send troops to Iraq and take their oil wells.
