That was the theory floated in the New York Post article on the shooting, ie the Bonannos were making new members without checking with the other families. Never made much sense to me.
that stagno shooting was not a mob hit at all
it has to have had something to do with mob it might have been a personal dispute but i dont believe at all that some civilian is going to shoot a made guy even in todays mafia
